Darlene Ann (Rehlinger) Lindquist, age 89, of Newnan, Georgia, and Amherst Junction, Wisconsin, peacefully passed away on September 19, 2026.

Born on April 12, 1937, in Rozellville, Wisconsin, Darlene was the daughter of the late Henry and Anna Rehlinger. She grew up on a quaint Wisconsin farm with a large, loving family. After graduating from high school, she moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where she began working for AC Spark Plug. It was during her time in Milwaukee that she met the love of her life, Richard "Dick" Lindquist. Together, they shared a beautiful marriage of many years, eventually moving south to Georgia to continue building their life and family.

Darlene was a dedicated mother who spent the following years raising her four children. During this time, she was involved in many local organizations, served as a hospital volunteer, and was an active member of her local church community. She went to work for the United States Postal Service in 1974 and committed 22 years of service in Newnan, Georgia, accumulating many stories of interesting deliveries and the people she met. Alongside her career, she had an immense love of life and a gift for brightening any situation or day. She was passionate about gardening, cooking, baking, and playing cards of any type. She was always quick to suggest a game of Chinese Rummy, Spite and Malice, Mexican Train, or Bridge. She and Richard also shared a deep love of golf, enjoying many wonderful rounds together and participating in numerous golf leagues. As a testament to her strength and her faith, Darlene successfully battled and beat Triple-Negative Breast Cancer in 2015.

A remarkably talented creator, she spent countless hours crafting, quilting, and sewing. You could never leave Darlene's home without her offering you some kind of gift she had made with her own hands. Darlene often said that when she got to heaven, she would have a sewing machine and a deck of cards waiting for her, along with her son Jay.

Her warm heart and generous spirit instantly welcomed everyone in. She loved sharing her passions with others, notably teaching yoga. She formed a group affectionately known as the "Lakeside Yoga Youngsters" on Rinehart Lake in Wisconsin-one of her favorite places-where she taught for many years and inspired many. Above all, she was a woman of deep grace, faith, and warmth, known for her profound devotion to her family.

Darlene was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved son, Jay Lindquist; her brothers, Brother Mark, Norman, LaVerne, Sylvester, and Charles; her sister, Margaret Weigel; and her stepfather, Frank Theurer.

Darlene's legacy of love lives on through her husband, Richard; her children, Jean Hines, Ann Lindquist, and Todd Lindquist (Michelle); her cherished grandchildren, Ansley Hidalgo (Javier), Adam Lindquist (Lauren), Isabel D'Alessandro, Will Lindquist (Elyse), and Nick D'Alessandro; and her adored great-grandchildren, Sebastian Hidalgo, Ellery Lindquist, Jude Lindquist, and Brooklyn Lindquist. She is also survived by her sister, Marilyn Fehrenbach, as well as a host of extended family members, nieces, nephews, dear friends, and her dog, Gracie, who will all miss her deeply.

A service to honor and celebrate Darlene's life will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Amherst, WI, on October 5th at 1 p.m.
