George Charles Fischer went to his heavenly home on October 24, 2025. He was born on

December 29, 1938 in Renwick, Iowa, to the late George S. Fischer and Arlene (Smith) Fischer.

George's family moved to Plymouth, Wisconsin when he was a young boy. He attended local

schools and graduated from Plymouth High School in 1957. On October 26, 1957, he married his

high school sweetheart, Patricia Picard.

George held numerous jobs as a young husband supporting his growing family, and eventually

learned meat cutting at Schwallers Meats in Plymouth. It was a trade he continued in the rest of

his career, working at Sentry Stores in Port Washington and Theinsville. In 1975 George packed

up his family and moved to Scandinavia. He was a meat manager at local stores including Ron &

Lloyds in Waupaca, he then worked in the wholesale meat industry at

Kaukauna Meats until his retirement.

George enjoyed his family and spent much time with them!! He enjoyed hunting, fishing,

travelling out West and Sheepshead card games. He had a soft heart for every pet that crossed

his path. George and Pat had many beloved family dogs over the years and a cat or two. His

easy smile, gentle humor, and kind nature made him a joy to be around.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 68 years, Patricia Fischer. He is further survived by his

children: Guy (Jan) Fischer, Chris Williams; Steve (Pam Wroblewski) Fischer, Jane (Roger Nelson)

Fischer, Maureen (Todd) Gunderson; Kurt (Heidi) Fischer.

He is further survived by his grandchildren; Andrew Fischer, Nathan (Jen) Williams, Kyle (Brooke)

Williams, Casey Fischer, Dustin (Amy Jo) Nelson, Alyssa (Shane) Carper, Laura (Justin) Mork, Luke

(Tiffany) Gunderson, Chad (Payton) Gunderson, Amelia Fischer and Madeline Fischer.

His great-grandchildren: Landon, Lincoln, Lawsen and Victor Fischer, Levi Gocha, Maggie and

Lizzy Williams, Audrey and Riley Williams, Hailey and Nash Fischer, Jax and George Nelson,

Holden and Payson Carper, Bentley Bryan, Magnum and Jetta Mork, Jace and Cade Gunderson,

Jaxon, Archer & Eli Gunderson. He is further survived by numerous sisters-in-law, a brother-in-law

and many nieces and nephews.

George (Sonny, as he was referred to by his parents and siblings) was the last of his family

having been preceded in death by his parents, brothers John and Kenneth, and sisters Sandy

and Sharon. Also preceding him was his son-in-law Kit Williams and daughter-in-law Mary

Fischer, his mother-in-law Audrey, three sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law.

George's legacy is one of love, loyalty, and quiet strength. He worked hard, lived simply, and

gave generously of his heart. His family will forever cherish his laughter, his wisdom, and the

way he made everyone feel welcome and loved.
