James "Jim" John Martin Fiane Jr., 84, of Appleton, Wisconsin went to his heavenly home on August 25, 2025. He was born on October 9, 1940, in Iola to James and Evangeline (Toebass) Fiane Sr.
Jim graduated from Iola High School in 1958 and then went on to serve in the US Army. He worked on the family farm and loved driving the John Deere Tractors and drove truck for Sturms in Manawa. James met and married Georgia "Jean" Louison on August 18, 1984, at First English Lutheran Church in Appleton and they moved to the Fox Valley area.
He worked for several construction companies and retired as a union worker from Miron Construction. In his earlier years he was a member of the local snowmobile club and enjoyed snowmobiling, hunting, and fishing. He loved camping at Huckleberry with his family where he was often found at karaoke singing George Jones and hitting the low notes of Johnny Cash classics. He never passed up a Bloody Mary with a Bud Light chaser while watching the Packers, or an Old Fashioned at the supper clubs. During retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and later great-grandchildren, teaching them the most important lesson: "strawberry waffles should always come with extra whip cream."
Jim is survived by his wife: Georgia "Jean" Fiane; children: Kim (fiancé, John Zangerle) Fiane, Randall (fiancé, Renee Kriplean) Anderson, Jennifer (partner, Troy Stichman) Anderson; grandson: Justin (Marissa Kososki) O'Connell; granddaughter: Alexandra (Cayden Newton) Anderson; great grandchildren: Braxton and Ariana; special niece: Carrie Louison, along with many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Sr. and Evangeline (Toebass) Fiane, and brother, David Fiane.
The Funeral Service for James will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Hitterdahl Lutheran Church, N8808 County J. Iola Wi 54945 with Rev. Dale Wilson officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 AM - 10:45 AM. Interment will be at Hitterdahl Lutheran Cemetery.
