Lyle G. Mork's courageous battle with cancer came to a close on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, WI. Born on April 4, 1939, outside of Iola, WI, Lyle was the ninth child of Oliver and Mabel Mork. He graduated from Iola High School in 1957 and went on to serve in the US Navy, where he met his beloved wife, Nellie Upson. Together, they shared 62 incredible years of marriage. Lyle's remarkable career spanned many years, including his tenure as store manager and Director of Store Operations at Mills Fleet Farms. After retiring, Lyle returned to Iola and expanded the Children's Garden, later serving as President of the Iola Historical Society. He was a dedicated member of the American Legion Sheveland-Taylor Post 14 for ten years, where he dedicated his time to designing, fundraising, and helping to construct the "Gold Star Recipients Monument" and the "Walk of Honor" located in Iola, WI.
Lyle's legacy lives on through his wife, Nellie; three daughters: Ann Mork, Mary (Nicholas) Hewitt, and Kimberley (Corey) Zeller; and their 12 grandchildren: Amanda Falkavage, Kyle Mork, Crista Rood, Dominic Mork, Ethan Hewitt, Ashton Hewitt, Gracie Zeller, Abbigail Zeller, Francis Zeller, Jovan Zeller, Amelody Zeller, Demone Zeller, and numerous great-grandchildren.
