Mark R. Peskie, 71, of Custer, formerly of Iola and Waupaca, died unexpectedly at home with his wife at his side on Thursday, November 27, 2025. He was born on July 23, 1954, in Waupaca to the late Gerard and Carmen (Barton) Peskie. Mark married Kathleen (Trzebiatowski) Steines on June 10, 2004, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Polonia.
Mark graduated from Waupaca High School in 1972 where he excelled in baseball and football. He graduated from the Milwaukee Area Technical College - Funeral Service program in 1976. Mark worked as a Funeral Director in the Milwaukee, Oshkosh, Amherst, and Waupaca areas and joined the Voie Funeral Home in 1993, where he retired as President in 2020. Mark was an avid sports fan, following the Wisconsin teams; especially the Milwaukee Brewers.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy; children from a prior marriage: Katie (John) Hauke, Josh Peskie, Mark (Carmen) Peskie, and Ashley Peskie; and additional children: Ben (Trisha) Steines, Emily (Yusuf) Maze, and Sam Steines. Grandchildren: Carter, Taedym, Cylie, Tamari, Abraham, London, Elizabeth and Scarlett. Sisters: Mary Ellen (Dennis) Marrs and Cheryl (Jeff) Pierce. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, numerous cousins, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerard and Carmen Peskie, and his brother, Gary Peskie.
The Funeral Mass for Mark will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Polonia on Wednesday, December 3rd, at 11:00 AM with Father Mark Miller presiding. Visitation will be held at the Voie Funeral Home in Iola on Tuesday, December 2nd, from 3-6 PM, followed by a Rosary Service at 6 PM. Visitation will also be held on Wednesday at the church from 9:30 - 10:45 AM. Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Polonia.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established at a later date per family wishes.
