Richard Breitzke

Richard Allen Breitzke, 77, of Iola, formerly of Madison, passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2025 at his home. Rick was born on May 14, 1947 to Ed and Dorothy (Meier) Breitzke in Madison. He attended Schenek Middle School and graduated from Madison East in 1965.

He married Sharon (Holte) in 1967. She preceded him in death in 2012.

Rick was employed by the city of Madison Street Department for 11 years before taking a job with Alliant Energy. He worked three years at the Portage Generating Station. He then took a job as a Meter Reader in Iola where he retired in 2007.

He was an avid deer and turkey hunter, fisherman, trap shooter and golfer.

Rick had a Federal Firearms License for 25 years, doing many banquets and fund raisers.

He is survived by his son, Chad (Tricia) Breitzke in Marshfield, WI; grandson, Cody Breitzke U.S. Army; fiance, Helen Everson; his good friends Jim and Sandy Johnson of Iola and Leon and Irma Nanfria of Florida.

At Rick's request, there will be no local services. Interment of cremains will be next to his wife at Highland Memory Gardens, Madison on Friday, September 12, 2025 at 12 o'clock noon.
